Phyllis Shelley was an EMT for Mid-Mo Ambulance. On December 14, 1987, she was driving an ambulance to another accident that had been called in when she lost control on a snow-covered road west of California, Missouri. The ambulance skidded and overturned. She was later pronounced dead from her injuries at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri.
