Details:

Dennis Krause was an EMT for the Concordia FPD since June 1986. On January 18, 1988, he responded to a chain-reaction accident on an ice-glazed highway near Concordia, Missouri. He was among the first emergency personnel on scene and had gone to one of the vehicles where two victims were pinned. He was leaning into the car to check on the victims when another skidding car struck him, throwing him approximately 40 feet. He was taken to Community Hospital and then transferred to University Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri, where he died during surgery.
