    Mehlville Fire Protection District is hiring both 12-hour and 24-hour Critical Care Paramedics. Both are full-time positions: 12-hour schedule is seven 12-hour day shifts in a two week period, 24-hour schedule is four 24-hour shifts in a 16 day period. Starting wage for 12-Hour CCP is $63,455; $70,455 with CCP-C certification. Starting wage for 24-Hour CCP is $69,902; after 4 years $96,774. All applicants must possess EMT-P certification through the state of Missouri. MFPD will pay for CCP and other certifications. Deliver basic/advanced life support and critical care with compassion, dedication and expertise, in accordance with established protocols, policies and procedures. CCPs perform advanced patient assessment and operate sophisticated equipment including mechanical ventilators, IV infusion pumps and ultrasound to enhance care and decision making in a variety of critical illness situations. MFPD's CCP team is unique in St. Louis County and outperforms regional, state and national performance metrics (CARES report). Health insurance, employee pays no premium.     Opportunity for professional to work in hospital-based Ambulance Service providing emergency response to Bates County, Missouri. Usually scheduled 96/120; overtime paid on hours worked over 40 per week. Works with staff in a spirit of teamwork and professionalism. Must possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform duties of a paramedic in a dignified and compassionate manner. Performs pre-hospital duties, as well as assisting emergency room staff and physician with patient care needs as directed. EOE

    Performs emergency pre-hospital treatment:

    • Responds to emergency medical calls timely via ambulance and performs emergency and advanced life support treatments within authorized certification limits.
    • Conducts on-site patient assessment, recognizes a variety of symptoms which may denote life threatening conditions requiring immediate action.
    • As appropriate, initiates radio communication with qualified medical personnel to relay medical information or receive direction in treatment.
    • Performs a variety of advanced level life support and emergency medical procedures requiring extensive knowledge and skills.
    • Provides direct care to patients based on current protocols, policies and procedures, accepted standards of care, and established competencies in a hospital and emergency environment.
    • Deals with a variety of hazardous, unpleasant and difficult circumstances and individuals, including patients, family members and onlookers. Coordinates activities with police, fire and other emergency responders.
    • Attends to patient needs during return trip to hospital or drives ambulance vehicle to assure prompt and safe return to hospital.
    • Special Requirements:
    • Valid license to operate ambulance.
    • Ability to work as a team.
    • Data entry and documentation skills.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Significant walking, bending, stooping, patient lifting and positioning.
    • Manual dexterity and ability to perform full range of body movements.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds up and down stairs and rough terrain.
    • Capable of hearing and distinguishing heart tones, lung and bowel sounds.

    Work Environment:

    • Normal inpatient care environment, including the emergency room.
    • Exposure to patient fluids and waste.
    • Rapid pace and variable environment.
    • Pre-hospital environment includes extreme variations in temperature and lighting, exposure to heat and cold, noise, fumes, dirt, water, patient elements, with significant exposure to hazards found at fires, accident and disaster sites.

    Cognitive Requirements:

    • Mental flexibility to perform diverse duties involved in patient care, frequently under emergency circumstances.
    • Good communication skills, written and oral, and ability to follow written and oral instruction.
    • Excellent coordination skills with ability to coordinate multiple systems.

    The Gladstone Fire Department is looking for energetic, high-quality applicants for the position of Firefighter / Paramedic.  Firefighter I and II training will be provided to those applicants who do not currently possess that certification.  National Registry or Missouri Paramedic licensure is required; however, applicants currently enrolled in an accredited Paramedic program and within six (6) months of completion will be considered. 

    Gladstone is a suburban community located in the northern metropolitan region of Kansas City, Missouri.  Gladstone encompasses nine (9) square miles and has a population of 28,000 residents.  The Gladstone Fire Department answers approximately 4,500 emergency calls annually and is comprised of two (2) stations; crews work a traditional 24/48 schedule.  The Fire Department responds to 911 calls for service but does not provide scheduled, non-emergency transfers or interfacility transport services.

    OzCAD is seeking paramedics for 24-hour shifts running emergency response ALS units in a rural community, with an annual call volume of ~1200.

    Starting pay is commensurate with experience. Full-time may choose a benefits package of medical insurance and PTO, or opt for a higher pay rate with no benefits.

    Missouri paramedic license required.
