Lindy Andrews
Executive Director of Buchanan County EMS
It is my pleasure to nominate Dr. Lynthia Bowman-Andrews for Physician of the Year. I started my career working with Dr. Andrews as an Emergency Room Physician over 30 years ago. During that time Dr. Andrews as ultimately had the care of her patients and people of Missouri as her number one priority.
Upon becoming involved with Statewide EMS I found Dr. Andrews is deeply entrenched in the processes for the betterment of prehospital patient care. She was a member of the first Time Critical Diagnosis (TCD). During her tenure she spent many hours working for legislation that would ensure the highest standard of care for the population for the State of Missouri. Along with being a champion of TCD, Dr. Andrews further sought to increase the awareness and elevate the culture of EMS in the state. She was appointed to the State Advisory Council of EMS in 2004 and subsequently became chair in 2006. During her term as president of the Advisory Council Dr. Andrews has tirelessly worked for the betterment of Emergency Medical Services through education, research and legislation.
Dr. Andrews on the local level held the position of Medical Director of Buchanan County Medical Services, LifeNet Air Ambulance, NW Regional EMS Council Medical Director and currently Worth County EMS. She has served on the Mosaic Lifecare Foundation Board, as well as other volunteer agencies.
It is for the above reasons that I wholeheartedly nominate Dr. Andrews for Physician of the Year for the State of Missouri.
